The team
At Thorneycroft Solicitors, we have a team of highly qualified and experienced solicitors, each dealing in their chosen areas of expertise. The senior members of the team are:
Director
Founder of the firm in 1990, Robert specialises in property and personal injury related matters.
Robert qualified at Chester Law College and was admitted as a solicitor in 1982. Robert's five children ensure that he has a busy life away from work, particularly through his involvement in local junior sport, which involves roles at Macclesfield Rugby Club and Prestbury Cricket Club.
He is currently chairman of the Kings School Macclesfield Former Pupils.
Managing Director
Rachel has been with Thorneycrofts since 1994, having previously trained with a Lincoln based firm of Solicitors.
In addition to her role as a solicitor, Rachel is also our Compliance Officer and Corporate Relationship Executive. When not at work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her two children, as well as training at the gym and running.
Director
Michael qualified in 1993, and joined Thorneycrofts in 1996, specialising in Personal Injury litigation. He is still a full time fee-earner, in addition to providing a second opinion upon the more complex cases within the firm when required, and helping to formulate litigation policy.
Michael and his wife Louise have two daughters. When he is not spending time with the girls, he likes to play golf and football when possible, as well as the odd game of squash.
Business Manager
Since joining Thorneycrofts in 2000, Adrian has been
responsible for the firm's marketing and business development and is pivotal
to the firm's outstanding position in the industry. Adrian had previous
similar roles within the sector, having started his career in insurance in 1978.
Away from work, Adrian relaxes by enjoying football, boating and motorsports.
Legal Executive
Having previously worked for another local firm for ten years, Mark joined Thorneycrofts in 1998 in order to pursue his objective of specialising in Personal Injury.
Mark has therefore taken every opportunity to broaden his knowledge through the specialist courses available.
Away from work, Mark enjoys all sports, as both a participant and spectator.
Associate Solicitor
Prior to joining Thorneycrofts in 1998, Susan had studied at Leeds University.
Susan's chosen areas of specialisation include RTAs, as well as cases which involve issues relating to employers liability. Susan's interests include foreign travel and during the past few years destinations have included The Maldives, Mexico and Mauritius.
Associate Solicitor
Having qualified at Staffordshire University, Kim joined Thorneycrofts in 1998.
In addition to handling road traffic accident cases, Kim has a particular interest in accidents at work. Away from work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and watching Manchester City.
Associate Solicitor
Rachael joined Thorneycrofts in 1997, qualifying in 1999. Rachael specialises in Personal Injury claims and has a particular interest in accidents at work, clinical negligence and criminal injuries.Away from work, Rachael enjoys the theatre, music and foreign travel.
Legal Executive
Nicola joined Thorneycrofts in 1998, in order to pursue her ambition of a career in law, particularly in the area of Personal Injury.
As with all of the Thorneycrofts team Nicola regularly attends specialist courses as part of her on-going development programme.Away from work Nicola enjoys spending time with her family as well as walking in Scotland and Wales and has also spent some time in New Zealand.
Associate Solicitor
Usha has been with Thorneycrofts since 2000 and specialises in the area of personal injury, with particular interest in public liability claims, housing disrepair, clinical negligence and fatality claims. Usha is also a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). In her spare time, Usha enjoys travelling, cooking and spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Litigation Executive
David has been with Thorneycrofts since 2002, having previously spent eight years with a Manchester-based firm, gaining a broad range of litigation experience. Away from the workplace, David is a keen motor sports enthusiast and keeps fit with regular visits to the gym.
Associate Solicitor
David joined Thorneycrofts in early 2003 and specialises in personal injury litigation. He has experience of a wide range of personal injury matters and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and an Accredited Member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel*.Outside of work David enjoys attending various sporting events and enjoys running having completed the Great North Run 5 times.
Associate Solicitor
Claire joined Thorneycrofts in 2000 and trained whilst studying part time at Staffordshire University, successfully obtaining a degree in Law and consequently completing the Legal Practice Course. Claire qualified in March 2008 and specialises in Personal Injury Claims, particulary road traffic accidents and accidents at work. Claire has a current interest in the mis-selling of PPI insurance and Consumer Credit.When not at work Claire enjoys walking with her dog, working out in the gym and foreign travel.
Associate Solicitor
Jemma has been with Thorneycrofts since 2004 having studied the LLB at Sheffield University and the LPC at Manchester Metropolitan University. She qualified as a Solicitor, specialising in Personal Injury law in January 2008.
Away from work Jemma enjoys visits to the theatre, ballet, cinema and travel.
