Simon is a costs and commercial manager with over twenty years of experience working in personal injury and litigation. Simon joined Thorneycrofts in May 2019 and works on high value and complex cases. His background in costs includes working as a tutor for the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen, producing a report for both houses of parliament in their debate of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act, and producing an expert response for the Civil Justice Counsel on hourly rates. Simon has spent most of his career involved in costs drafting, costs negotiations, and attending Court hearings. He has considerable knowledge of civil procedure, compliance matters and retainer documents, including legal expenses insurance matters and Conditional Fee Agreements. He is well-known as calm, methodical and approachable.
In his spare time, he says that he plays guitar with the enthusiasm, and skill, of a small child.
