The North West Air Ambulance is a non-profit charity that relies on the generosity of volunteers to help keep the service running smoothly.
It provides a rapid pre hospital care service to our road users in their time of need.
The three-helicopter fleet mean that airborne paramedics are no more than ten minutes away from a hospital and are able to get to accident sites, in difficult to get to areas, quickly. The speed at which the air ambulance can reach an accident site and transport to hospital, for emergency trauma care, can often mean the difference between life and death.
This invaluable service needs £4.3 million each year to pay for the Air ambulances, the fuel, maintenance, medical equipment, expert pilots and specialist airborne paramedics. Much of the funding comes from charity work and the North West Air Ambulance service works extremely hard to fundraise and ensure this life saving service is maintained.
Jenny Haskey, Head of Fundraising at the North West Air Ambulance Charity, said:
“With it being our 15th anniversary, this particular year is very special and we hope to see lots of people get on board with our campaign and help us raise the funds we need to continue our vital work across the North West.”
“The North West Air Ambulance Charity’s helicopters fly 365 days a year, with our doctors and paramedics on board providing rapid treatment and hospital transfers to patients across the entire North West region each year. Since it launched in 1999, the charity has flown more than 11,000 missions across the region.”
At Thorneycroft Solicitors we have huge admiration for the staff and volunteers at the North West Air Ambulance service. We fully appreciate the work they do which is why we are proud to be supporting their fundraising campaign and helping them to raise awareness of their invaluable charity.
