An accident occurred in the early hours, at around 6.15 am, on a busy A road which resulted in two people being injured as a result.
One woman had to be cut free from her vehicle by fire and rescue crews and another person in the second vehicle also received medical attention.
Both injured parties were treated by paramedics at the scene and then taken to the local hospital by ambulance.
Neither of the drivers are thought to have sustained life threatening injuries.
The roads were closed for several hours whilst police cleared the roads and collected eye witness reports.
