A man and two women had to be taken to hospital following a collision during rush hour.
Emergency services quickly attended the accident, at approx 8.45 am, which involved a Ford C-Max car and a Yamaha motorcycle. The motorcyclist, who is thought to be in his 30s, was treated on the roadside before being taken to hospital with potentially numerous broken bones. The other female casualties, the driver and passenger of the Ford car, both believed to be in their 20s, were also injured. Fire crews had to remove the car roof from their vehicle before they could be safely treated and transported to hospital.
There was also the added threat of fire due to a petrol spillage on the road following the accident which meant the road had to be closed for cleaning. The police are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses.
