Lasting power of attorney (LPA) forms have been made easier

The Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) forms changed back at the beginning of July with the aim of making them clearer and easier to complete.

The changes affect LPAs relating to property, financial and health and welfare affairs and the main improvements are as follows:

• There is no need for a second certificate provider.
• Forms have been redesigned to make them easier to understand, quicker to complete and they also co-ordinate well with the online LPA service which is a valued service to solicitors as it support their processes.
• You can still use the old forms up until 1st January 2016 if you prefer but the new forms are already available.

There have been no alterations to enduring powers of attorney (EPA) forms at this time.
