Emergency services responded to an incident whereby a female cyclist had been dismounted by a coach and had suffered “serious injuries” as a result.
Police, a critical care team and ambulance crews arrived at the scene promptly at approx 2.25pm and closed the roads down whilst they provided roadside treatment to the woman.
The woman, in her 40’s, was badly injured and in a serious condition. She was then taken to Hospital by land ambulance. Police are now doing accident investigations at the site to determine how the accident happened.
The coach driver and passengers were not injured.
