Monday the 15th of May marks the start of Headway’s ‘Action for Brain Injury’ week, a yearly campaign aimed at increasing awareness and understanding surrounding brain injuries.
Headway is a UK-based charity founded in 1979 that provides information and support to individuals and families affected by a brain injury.
They aim to improve the lives of people with brain injuries by offering rehabilitation programmes, counselling, support groups and advocacy services, as well as raising awareness of the causes, symptoms and treatment of brain injuries.
The charity is run by a team of dedicated professionals and volunteers who are committed to improving the lives of those affected by brain injury. They also work closely with medical professionals, government agencies, and other organisations to ensure that people with brain injuries receive the support and care they need to lead fulfilling lives.
This year, the Action for Brain Injury campaign ‘Take a Second’ focuses on a powerful statistic surrounding brain injuries:
‘Every 90 seconds, someone in the UK is admitted to a hospital with a brain injury.’
Headway are aiming to create more awareness surrounding how common brain injuries are. It only takes a second for a life to be completely knocked off course.
Here at Thorneycroft Solicitors, we have a team of Catastrophic Injury Solicitors specialising in claiming compensation for serious injuries. In addition to financial compensation, our team also recognise the importance of rehabilitation in the wake of an accident. This is why we work closely with Headway both during and after the settlement has been achieved. By working alongside them, we ensure that our clients that have suffered a brain injury receive all of the care and support they need to allow them to have the best quality of life possible.
If you have suffered a brain injury as a result of an accident that wasn’t your fault, we can help. We have a team of experienced solicitors that specialise in head and brain injury claims. Our team has successfully represented clients with brain injury claims as a result of a range of reasons including road traffic accidents, motorbike accidents, medical negligence and birth injuries.
We understand that brain injuries can have lasting, life-changing consequences for both the client and their loved ones. We don’t just prioritise getting the highest possible compensation settlement for your claim, we also ensure you get the best possible treatment and that your recovery continues long after your claim is settled.
