Overview of the Position
A new opportunity has arisen within our Clinical Negligence team to assist in the delivery of legal services to our clients who have suffered injury and loss by reason to clinical negligence. You will manage your own caseload of clinical negligence matters. The Candidate will be a self-motivated, ambitious and an experienced fee earner to join a highly regarded and expanding Catastrophic team. The successful candidate will be expected to have litigation experience and have experience of handling and advising on cases involving complex issues and maximum severity injuries.
You will be expected to maximise your personal billings to achieve appropriate billing performance targets meeting with the income budget/and or forecast for the department. Qualifications and Experience
- Grade A Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or a Fee Earner with proven track record in the field of Clinical Negligence (3-4 years CN experience)
- Previous experience of working with Proclaim case management system is desirable but not es-sential as full training will be provide
- IT Literate
- Proven experience in a similar role

- A complete case handler mindful of statutory legislation, CPR and relevant case law and can apply said knowledge to cases to deliver the clients desired outcome
- A working knowledge of compliance issues and relevant codes of conduct and accounts rules
- A commercial mind set to delivering legal service given the reduced costs recoverability
- An ability to deliver excellent legal advice while maintaining client care standards
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, effective organisation and time management skills
- An ability to respond to coaching, mentoring and guidance given in line with the management structure
- Ability to work in a claimant litigation environment mindful of the pressure that arises from a litigated case load
- Remain focused and professional at all times
Job Specific Duties
- Experienced in running and managing your own clinical negligence caseload
- Career focussed with a determination to succeed
- Willing to supervise and develop less experienced members of a team, sharing knowledge and know-how
- Extensive experience in conducting meetings and interviews with clients
- Ability to assess legal issues and advise accordingly
- Vetting new cases into the department
- Legal research experience, providing overviews and knowledge to clients and members of the team
- Experienced in drafting complex documents and letters
- Support the team in building our national focus
- Flexible attitude and willingness to embrace change
- Plus, any other duties as reasonably requested by Management
