As specialist motorbike solicitors we have a passion for motorcycles. This passion has enabled us to gain a unique understanding of the unique needs of our clients who have been involved in motorcycle accidents. We also aim to give back to the motorcycle community, which is why we are proud to support athletes such as Christian Iddon in his bid to become Bennetts British Superbike Champion.
I’m Christian Iddon, but my friends call me Iddo. It’s been a tough road to get to where I am today, but I wouldn’t change a thing, motorbikes are in my blood and have been since I was born as my father was a motorbike racer himself.
I currently ride for PBM Ducati in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship and I’ve had the privilege of racing around some of the most famous circuits in motorsport. I can honestly say that racing Superbikes really is one of the best jobs in the world.
I haven’t always been a superbike racer, I actually began my motorcycling career at age six by taking part in a schoolboy motocross. I continued to take part in MX events during most of my school years before moving on to Supermoto and it was in this field that I achieved my first World Championship Podium and I’d never felt a feeling quite like that. It really gave me the bug to keep competing and aim to take my riding to the highest level.
Having enjoyed several years of varying success, I joined the TYCO BMW team after I caught the eye of team manager Philip Neil. In my first season with the team, I managed 6 podium finishes which made me a permanent fixture in the team. I have now joined the PBM Ducati team and look forward to an exciting partnership with my new team.
From a young age and throughout my motorcycling career I have suffered various injuries, from broken wrists and broken legs to a broken collar bone and a freak fall in 2017 which saw my leathers split open after I hit the ground at 140mph.
However, I believe that whilst injuries may be part and parcel of the sport I love, those who ride their motorcycles on the road should be able to do so without worrying about getting injured due to the negligence of other road users. That is why I am proud to be sponsored by the specialist motorbike solicitors at Thorneycroft Solicitors.
Their team not only assist clients who have suffered motorcycle injuries, but they also promote motorcycle safety for motorcyclists of all abilities.
I am ready and raring to go for the season ahead, and I hope that with hard work and the continued support of my sponsors and fans, I will be able to climb the rankings in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.
