Every Year the Cheshire East Council teams up with Cheshire radio station Silk 106.9fm to recognise the people who give back to their families and communities without expecting anything in return.
The Local Hero Awards is an event where local businesses and individuals can celebrate and reward the unsung heroes who often dedicate their lives selflessly to improving the lives of others.
Now in its 18th year, the 2015 Awards proved to be the biggest event yet with 12 awards being presented at the prestigious Gala Ceremony in The Dorchester Suite at The Tytherington. The categories were Champion Child, Social Enterprise of the Year, Parent/Guardian of the Year, Carer of the Year, Local Business of the Year, Act of Courage, Teacher of the Year, Neighbour of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Young Achiever of the Year, Sporting Achievement Award and finally the Pride of Cheshire Award – the unsung heroes of Cheshire East.
David Flavell, Silk radio station manager said: “The Local Hero Awards are the highlight of the local calendar.
“We are now in our 18th year of the Awards and still they continue to be the best way to reward and recognise local people who give their time for others.”
Our very own Natasha Scragg represented Thorneycroft Solicitors and presented the ‘Local Business of the Year’ Award to The Harrington Arms and the Queens Arms (Bosley).
It was a wonderful event and all proceeds raised from the evening went to the Bosley Appeal Fund.
