Care home abuse unacceptable

Once again we have had the news headlines revealing the atrocities which have been going on in some of our countries private care homes.

I am not sure which is worse reading about the appalling lack of basic humanity being offered to our ‘forgotten generation’ or learning that the perpetrators’ will be able to walk away unpunished!

There are a lot of good homes in the country but unfortunately we still have problem homes. The elderly deserve basic standards of dignity and care in their later years when they are at their most vulnerable; this is their basic human right.
