Head of Local Satellite Office – Broad property experience essential

As Thorneycroft Solicitors embraces further growth an exciting new role is available.

We are a large innovative national firm based in Cheshire and require a confident and committed individual to help us continue to grow our private client offering at a new site.

The successful candidate will be the Manager of a new office in High Peak, managing a team of 3 on a day to day basis. This office is a local/satellite office to our main offices in Macclesfield and a further development to our other local offices.

Some of the work from this office will in due course be undertaken from our Macclesfield head office, as the work levels grow. The role will carry with it a responsibility to liaise with the relevant Heads of Department at Head Office, developing full integration between the various teams.

Other fee earners will also work from the office as required, and this role will also carry with it some level of supervision for them when they are on site.

As a Fee Earner, we are looking for someone that can cope with a mixed property caseload, although there will be opportunity to refer work to the Head Office when work levels are too high for the smaller office, or when a different specialism is required. Experience of agricultural property transactions will be a huge benefit.

We are keen to grow this office, as part of the board’s strategy, and have further staff based there as soon as possible.

The office also provides family and wills and probate advice, and you may be asked to take instruction on these types of matters to refer on to the other locally based fee earner or Head Office.


  • Solicitor
  • Must have at least 5 years’ PQE


  • You should be a confident Property generalist dealing with Conveyancing, Commercial Property, leases and agricultural property work.
  • You will be involved in developing the growth and turnover of the new office with our Marketing and Business Development team. The role will allow you to advance in seniority within the overall firm.


  • To motivate, manage and nurture staff members whilst maintaining your own caseload

  • To provide the highest level of customer service to clients and introducers at all times
  • To maintain a good up to date working knowledge of relevant aspects of the law other than those specified above to allow cross-discipline instruction to be taken
  • To keep up to date with changes in the law and maintain and disseminate information to other colleagues in relation thereof at other offices
  • To attend and contribute to meetings with the Board as required
  • To act in the best interest of the firm undertaking the above tasks and others reasonably considered by the firm
  • To deal with such matters as the firm may reasonably require from time to time
  • Knowledge of Proclaim case management system is desirable but not essential

  • Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.30pm with a lunch break of one hour each day
