Medical Negligence Solicitor, Macclesfield, Cheshire

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced medical negligence solicitor to join our busy department.

You should have between 2 and 4 years pqe and possess a sound knowledge of medical and dental negligence law. You should be to handle your own case load independently but also have the ability to become an integral part of the team.

A professional yet sympathetic approach is essential.

This is an excellent opportunity to assist in the development and expansion of this niche department which sits proudly within this well-established firm.The position is based at our head office in Macclesfield.

Conveyancing Solicitor, Macclesfield, Cheshire

A Conveyancing Solicitor is required to work in our busy and expanding Macclesfield office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Fee Earner, Solicitor or Filex qualified professional to move into a consistent and dynamic team. We are looking for someone that can manage their own caseload independently, with the minimum of supervision. In return the successful candidate can expect a competitive remuneration.

Applications are invited from candidates with at least 3 year’s experience in a volume or high street conveyancing environment. Fee Earners should possess detailed and sound conveyancing knowledge and be confident when dealing with a mixed caseload which will consist mainly of residential properties but with some commercial.

The role will be based primarily in Macclesfield with a requirement to work across our branch offices in Holmes Chapel and Buxton.

Legal Secretary

We are looking for an experienced legal secretary to join our busy team at Thorneycroft Solicitors. The right candidate will be one who uses their initiative and thrives within a busy and fast-paced personal injury department, has excellent audio typing/copying typing, with general administrative duties for differing fee earners and/or solicitors and who has extensive experience using a case management system (Proclaim).

The main duties include:

  • Prepare accurate correspondence and documents through audio typing for the department.
  • Setting up new files and sending out largely standard/template letters, liaising with medical experts/agencies and arranging medical appointments, applying for and chasing medical records, chasing cheques (both damages & costs), etc.
  • Provides typing and secretarial support to the fee earners to enable the department to operate at optimum efficiency.
  • Undertakes all secretarial and typing duties and uses a high degree of self-management and initiative.
  • Provides support to other audio typists, secretaries, junior secretaries and temporary secretaries.
  • Arranges appointments/meetings and to maintain an up to date diary for a fee earner(s) as and when required.
  • Deals with clients both in person and on the telephone and provides such support in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Ensures the confidentiality of all firm and client’s documentation and information.
  • Administers filing which includes daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files.
  • Dealing with routine incoming post/emails.
  • Uses office equipment, i.e. photocopier, fax etc. competently.
