Hey guys, just a little update to let you know what I have been doing since this World issue has really taken a hit on the UK and the Championship ha been put on hold.
Obviously all sporting events and activities have ceased. That means for myself and my team everything is currently on hold.
From a team perspective, obviously our machinery is produced in Italy (as is a lot of my technical equipment) so even if the season were to start tomorrow we would have a few issues. With no material to actually work on the team side of things has been shut down almost entirely, just waiting for the green light to get going again.Â
From my side, I cannot stop with the physical preparation because I need to be ready for when we will start racing again but of course it is difficult to know exactly how to prepare when you are unsure on what you are preparing for or what date you are trying to get going.
I have been able to train with some cycling and I also have my bicycle set up indoors which is a big help. Of course, I am unable to ride any motorbikes at the moment as the championship is on hold. I mean, I could but that would be irresponsible.
If I were to, for example, ride motocross I could have an accident and that would be a further strain on resources, so for now, I have no motorbikes in my life, which is the first time in a very long time that has happened.
Mentally this is quite challenging for me and I know that is the case for so many right now.
At this moment we don’t have a great deal to look forward to as we are not allowed to do a great deal, but I just keep focussing ahead on the next thing that should be happening.
Right now that is round 3 of our championship. I have my timer set for that date and I look forward and work towards that date and that seems to help me cope with this strange time we are in.
I know that date will come and go as we won’t be racing there but I will just re-set the timer for round 4 and go again.
I have also tried to be very proactive. It is very easy to waste away these days so I have made sure that hasn’t been the case.
At the moment I have taken on a big job in the garden.
It’s one of those jobs I wished I had never started but it keeps me active every day and it is nice to see the progress, even if it is slow going with one spade and a broken rake!
Anyway, for now, we must keep adhering to the Government guidelines, staying home and staying safe as.
I just wish everyone all the best throughout this and hopefully, very soon we can return to some form of normality.
