Cycling has two seasons track season and road season. Track season takes place over winter and road in summer. For me, the road season is well underway with my focus being the World Cups and World Championships (hopefully). I say hopefully because I’m not on Team GB, I ride as a guest so there’s no guarantee I will be selected.
My first World Cup, this year, was in Belgium. It went well, there was a hiccup with a fall in the Time Trial, despite that I won both the Time Trial and the Road Race.
After Belgium I went pretty much straight back to training, I am really happy with my power.
Recently I had a bike fit with @BackstedtBikFit, Maggy is really experienced having won Paris-Roubaix 2004.
We looked at my cleat position as my knees brush against my crossbar leaving me with bruising after each ride.
Yes, I could ride with plasters on my knees but that’s not really the point, as bruising is a sign of something more important.
Next, we looked at my position on the bike and made quite a few changes. As a result, I feel much better on the bike already!
Thanks Maggy!
With the hard work I’m putting in and the support of my sponsors including Thorneycroft Solicitors, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store.
