Mr K, who was aged 22 at the time of his accident, was knocked off his motorbike by another driver who turned right across his path. He suffered serious injuries to his right knee including a fracture of the tibial plateau together with a torn posterior cruciate ligament, posterior dislocation of the knee and soft tissue injuries to his groin and elbow. He required surgery to reconstruct the right knee and the injuries caused the early onset of severe osteoarthritis in the knee which would likely lead to a full knee replacement (and subsequent revisions) becoming necessary. He also suffered with some psychological injuries in the form of anxiety and low mood.
