Headway is a charity that is close to Thorneycroft Solicitors heart. Having been a corporate member of this worthy and wonderful charity for a number of years, the company is proud to renew their membership for yet another year.
Here at Thorneycroft Solicitors, we have a specialist team who represent victims who have suffered serious brain injuries. Statistics suggest that, on average, 135,000 people are admitted to hospital every year due to sustaining a brain injury and there are also another ½ million people living with long term disabilities caused by brain injury.
Headway receives no government support and relies almost entirely on voluntary donations. It is a UK-wide charity that aims to improve the lives of brain injury sufferers by providing support, services and information to them, their families and carers, and also advises them on issues relating to health and legal issues.
Rachel Stow ,Managing Director Thorneycroft Solicitors:
“Brain injuries can have devastating effects for victims,
“We urge anyone that has been the victim of an injury to the head to seek medical advice and call us to see how our specialist brain injury team can help.”
Mark Belfield, Thorneycroft Solicitors Head of Large Loss, has helped organise company fundraising for Headway over the years through fun days such as wearing hats for Headway and supporting Brain Injury Week. He has also personally fundraised well over £1,000 by running the Manchester 10k .
He said:
“Headway is a charity close to my heart as they have played such an important role in the recovery of many of my clients. Seeing first-hand the work they do at the Stockport branch office was really inspiring. The organisation depends predominantly on volunteers and donations and the reaction gratitude I received made my donation feel incredibly worthwhile.’
