Thorneycroft Solicitors are proud to be supporting the East Cheshire Hospice Will Week again this year that runs from 13th – 17th May. We will be offering our time free from chargeto write standard Wills, and anyone having their Will written this week will be able to makea donation instead to the hospice.
East Cheshire Hospice is a cause we support regularly within the Macclesfield community in order to help them raise the £6,000 required every single day to simply keep going. Gifts from Wills (legacies) provide a significant amount towards the hospice’s running costs.
Sharon Farrow from Thorneycroft Solicitors said “We are delighted to be involved in this initiative again this year by writing Wills free of charge. The hospice is a cause we support regularly here at Thorneycroft Solicitors as it is an essential part of our community, and having an up-to-date Will is important for everyone so we hope lots of people take part.”
The hospice’s Major Relationships Manager, Fiona Beasley said “This is a great way to get something really important done. We are very grateful to all the solicitors who are providing their services free of their charges. Many people put off having a Will written time and again. I really hope this special week motivates anyone who doesn’t have an up-to-date Will to take part as legacies make up such a vital part of the hospice’s running costs.”
Research has shown that 7 out of 10 people do not have a will, and it is recommended that everyone should at the very least have a basic will so that property is distributed appropriately upon death. Writing a will ensures that family and loved ones are provided for with as little cost and dispute as possible.
