Shrove Tuesday each year in Macclesfield is a fun filled day as the annual Great Pancake Race in Macclesfield town centre takes place. Organised by ECHO Hospital and Community Health Care Charity, the event is for a fantastic cause and we are thrilled to have taken part.
By 10:30am on the day of the race, our four flipping champions were ready… in fancy dress and they looked brilliant! The guys caused a stir at the event donning their outfits of the Honey Monster, Princess Fiona, Elmo and Big Bird.
Outside of their costumes, our Thorneycroft contestants are better known as Craig Fisher, Leslie Chetwood, Paul Newsome and Kimberley Burton. We’d like to say thanks to the guys for taking part and also good luck to Kimberley when you take off all that green paint!
Whilst everyone loves to compete and win, the day itself is all about having fun and raising money to help Echo Hospital Community Health Care Charity continue their great work in the local area.
By entering the race, we have donated £20 to the cause and we are thrilled to have been involved with a charity that helps so many people in our community.
Make sure you check out our video below for rare, unseen footage of the Honey Monster running and juggling a pancake – enjoy!
