A teenage cyclist from Southend has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car.
The girl, who is believed to be 16, was involved in the smash with a black Vauxhall Astra in Queensway, Southend last night (7th October 2012).
Paramedics were called to the scene, near to Enterprise Rentcars, at 7.10pm.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said, “The girl sustained a head injury and following treatment by the ambulance crews at the roadside, she was taken to Southend Hospital for further care.”
She continues to remain in a stable condition in hospital.
The road was closed for more than three hours after the incident as Police carried out their investigations.
