The article published recently regarding the capping of legal fees for clinical negligence claims is very misleading in that it is suggesting lawyers are routinely recovering fees which are out of proportion to damages received.
We had a fantastic night at the BASIC Chequered Ball on Saturday at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. BASIC is a charity that provides counselling, information and support services for patients and their families following a brain or spinal injury.

Thorneycroft Solicitors has renewed their sponsorship of The King’s School Macclesfield’s Rugby First XV’s sponsorship for 2013/14 season across the school’s teams.
The senior first XV started the season well with a 42-10 win over Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, one of the foremost Yorkshire schools, building on last year’s unbeaten season.

A woman has been left in a very delicate position after a tiny drill bit snapped off inside her tooth whilst a dentist was performing a root canal procedure. An X-ray showed a 8mm fragment of dental drill lodged in her jaw bone.
A Hospital has been found guilty of clinical negligence after failing to recognise clear signs of low blood sugars including floppiness and low birth weight after the birth. The child’s brain damage has been confirmed as being caused by midwife staff not identifying low blood sugar at birth. By failing to perform a blood glucose test shortly after the birth, the newborn therefore continued to suffer with the low blood sugar condition for two days which ultimately led to his birth injury.
