We are delighted to be able to support The Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) for their Ride to Work Day campaign.
Bikers from across the UK are backing an international campaign to cut congestion and get the economy moving again by taking to two wheels instead of four.
Ride to Work day is celebrated every year on the third Monday in June.
This year it’s Monday 15 June, and motorcyclists all over the UK will be leaving their car keys on the hook and taking their motorcycles and scooters to work to raise awareness of the benefits of motorcycle commuting.
At Thorneycroft Solicitors, our specialist motorcycle solicitors have developed a passion for all things motorcycles.
Whilst we are currently remaining safe in accordance with the latest government guidelines, we are delighted to be able to show our support for such an important day.
By taking to two wheels, Ride to Work Day supporters are doing their bit to cut congestion for all road users.
Did you know that If just 10 per cent of car users switch to two wheels for their commute, congestion could fall by 40 per cent.*
Colin Brown, Director of Campaigns & Political Engagement for the Motorcycle Action Group – the Ride to Work Day organisers in the UK – said “Riding a motorcycle, scooter or moped is the perfect option for many journeys as the UK fights to get the economy moving again.
Alongside cycling and walking, motorcycles and scooters provide a sensible choice for anyone wishing to avoid gridlocked roads on their commute.
Conventional motorcycles already help reduce air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and congestion. With the option to go electric, motorcycles really have no downside as a practical transport choice for commuting.
We’re encouraging every motorcyclist and scooter rider to Ride to Work on Monday 15th June and would urge employers to look into the many benefits to them of supporting riders as we come out of lockdown.”
