A collision occurred between a red Vauxhall Combo and a silver VW Golf which led to the driver of the red van having to be freed from her vehicle by fire crews.
Following the collision at about 4.45pm the van was forced off the road and halted in some bushes.
The 48 year old driver of the van was trapped inside her vehicle after the accident and fire crews had to spend an hour using hydraulic cutting gear to free her.
Emergency services arrived promptly and secured the scene and assessed the injuries. The female driver of the van was taken to hospital with whiplash however the 74 year old driver of the silver Golf was uninjured.
