Under the new law, where an employee successfully claims unfair dismissal the amount of compensatory award they are entitled to receive will be capped at the lower of £74,200 or one year’s gross pay. This cap will apply to any claim for unfair dismissal where the effective date of termination is after 29th July 2013.
