At the beginning of a new year our thoughts often turn to the future and what we want and need to be happy in 2014.
Whilst Christmas and New Year can be wonderful times for couples and families, the reality is that it is also a time when tensions run high and marriages are put to the test. January is statistically the busiest month of the year for divorce with twice as many divorces being filed as September (the second most popular month).
An estimated 42% of marriages in England and Wales will end in divorce, according to latest figures provided by the Office of National Statistics. The chance of divorce is greatest between the fourth and eighth wedding anniversaries but marriages can and do break down irrevocably at any time from wedding day to 50 years +.
There are so many factors that can cause a marriage to break down and it can be one of the most emotionally traumatic experiences you ever have to go through. You can feel like you are isolated and under extreme pressure or you can feel sadness and loss, grieving for the relationship you once had.
There are financial or emotional considerations and these can become particularly more pressing if there are children involved. Divorce proceedings can seem overwhelming at times with so many things to consider and decisions to be made which is why, here at Thorneycroft solicitors, we have carefully considered the needs of our clients who are about to go through a divorce.
Our specialist solicitors have developed 4 divorce packages which are designed to cater to the specific needs of our clients. Each option offers different levels of service which aims to take some of the stress and worry out of the process enabling you to concentrate on getting your life back in order and moving on.
