Colchester Hospital has declared a “Major incident” following an investigation by the CQC.
Yet more worrying headlines regarding our hospitals …and I am sure there will be more to come .
For the NHS, a major incident is defined as:
“Any occurrence that presents serious threat to the health of the community, disruption to the service or causes (or is likely to cause) such numbers or types of casualties as to require special arrangements to be implemented by hospitals, ambulance trusts or primary care organisations.”
We have received several enquiries form the public with concerns regarding this warning, however if you do have a specific issue or concern which you feel has been dealt with inappropriately please contact our specialist team.
We need to be working with our NHS not against it, but until funding is improved shortcuts will continue to be taken which in turn lead to inevitable mistakes and delays.
