Emergency services were called to a field at approximately 5.30pm after there were reports that a man was trapped under a tractor he had been driving which had toppled over and trapped him underneath it.
He had been cutting the grass on the field and was pulling a trailer to collect the grass. It is thought the tractor went down an embankment which caused the tractor to unbalance and roll onto its side.
Air ambulance crews and paramedics were able to safely free the man from the tractor and provide him with medical support and fire crews were able to right side the tractor to ensure there was no fire risk.
He was airlifted to the nearest hospital where his condition is not yet known but he is thought to have sustained some serious injuries.
