Community leaders in Lynn are asking for the help of local villages to back them on a campaign to improve the safety at a notorious car accident blackspot.
Since the junction on Clenchwarton Road in West Lynn was remodelled in 2011, it has been the host of numerous accidents, and now leaders are ready to launch a campaign to get vital safety changes made.
This week, Norfolk County Council have confirmed that further work will be done on the junction to help improve the safety, but say it will not be done until next year.
Parish councillors have promised that they will continue to pile on the pressure in the hope of getting the changes moved forward.
“I believe something needs to be done about it before somebody is killed there. As soon as there is an accident there, my phone is red hot,” said one councillor.
The leaders believe that a mini roundabout is needed to solve the safety problems, and have written to authorities in neighbouring villages to gain support.
Clenchwarton parish councillors have already expressed their full backing for the changes as pressure mounts on county council figures to move the changes forward.
