A village home owner from Harwich says that he fears a tragic car accident is just around the corner following the crash of a chemical lorry.
The 63-year-old was in the study of her home when she heard a huge smash outside her home on August 2nd 2012.
Police investigations later revealed that a Volvo lorry from Belgium drove on the wrong side of the road and hit an Audi A3, destroying the home owner’s front wall.
The driver of the car hurt her head in the accident, but the injuries were not sufficient enough to warrant a hospital visit.
The chemical lorry was empty but usually carries nitric acid. The road was closed for three hours which the mess of the accident was cleared up.
The concerned resident has now pleaded for action to be taken and explained that she has seen a 50 per cent increase in the amount of lorries on the road since she moved there seven years ago.
The lorry driver was fined by local police for the incident.
