Female motorcyclist seriously hurt in bike collision

 A woman has been seriously injured following an accident on a busy main road in Essex.

The accident is believed to have occurred at around 12.30pm and involved another motorcycle. Emergency services were called to the London-bound carriageway where the injured parties were treated at the roadside.  An air ambulance was used to transport the woman to hospital where she is believed to be in a critical condition. 

Due to the serious nature of the injuries, the road was closed for an extended period of time and long delays ensued.
