From 29th July 2013, Compromise agreements have been replaced by Settlement agreements. However, this is essentially a change in name only and Settlement agreements will remain a legally binding agreement between an employer and an employee that, once signed, will bring an end to the Contract of Employment and prevent an employee from making a complaint to an Employment Tribunal.
