A 17-year-old boy from Manchester is said to be fighting for his life after he was involved in a cycling accident with a car.
The youngster was cycling through Moss Side when he was struck down by a BMW.
Manchester Police later arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident after he had handed himself in at a nearby police station.
He has since been released on bail pending further questioning.
Reports say that the boy is in a stable but critical condition in hospital but is expected to make a recovery.
