A pedestrian has been airlifted to the nearest trauma unit after being in a collision with a car. The accident happened at around 8am when emergency services were called after reports a 16 year old girl had been knocked down and seriously injured.
Emergency services including two ambulances, air ambulance with trauma doctor and senior paramedic attended the accident scene and an assessed the girls injuries. An ambulance spokesperson said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found a 16-year-old girl who had suffered a potentially serious head injury.
“She had initially been reported to be unconscious but had started to come round while ambulance staff were treating her.
“After assessment, the doctor on the aircraft anaesthetised her at the scene before she was airlifted to …. Hospital in Birmingham. She had also been immobilised.
“The driver, a woman, was shaken by what had happened and was taken to ….. Hospital by ambulance as a precaution.”
