A 30 Year old man’s lifelong condition has been attributed to the medical negligence of the hospital in which he was born. The victim’s family are currently undergoing legal proceedings against the NHS trust hospital.
They claim he contracted an infection in the Special Care Baby Unit in 1983, which led to his lifelong severe disability. However, the trust denies liability and says it will contest any claim made by the family.
However, legal action will be taken due to his parent’s concern about how and who will care for their son after their deaths.
This is one of many incidents where the NHS are facing medical negligence claims over the mistreatment of patients.
