As with many things in 2020, Brake Road Safety Week was a little different this year.
However, whilst we weren’t able to hold the physical seminars and activities we have enjoyed in previous years, our team didn’t let that stop them from showing their support by hosting and taking part in a range of virtual road safety activities.
During Brake Road Safety Week, which was held between November 16th-22nd, the firm held 2 virtual seminars. The first focussed on motorbike speed and winter riding upskilling and included several guest speakers including British superbike rider Christian Iddon, Tom Rowlands of Upright Derbyshire, Matt Bill from Biker Down and Barrister Andrew Ward from Exchange Chambers and Sean Parker-Perry from Strontium9zero.
The seminar had a great turn out and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our guest speakers, our team learned a lot and we look forward to collaborating again in the near future.
Our second free seminar saw Andrew Drewary of Road Safety Smart discuss the dangers of speeding and how businesses can help improve road safety. The Head of our Employment Law & HR team, Amir Khan, also gave his insight into the legal implications for businesses that have employees that may be susceptible to dangerous driving.
If you have missed any of our seminars and would like to know more about how your business may be affected by employees who drive dangerously, or you are a motorcyclist who has suffered an injury, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.
In addition to this year’s virtual seminars, our team also engaged in daily activities throughout the week including daily facts and reminders, sharing valuable insight into how they can improve road safety, followed by a quiz to test their knowledge of things they had learned.
Our firm also arranged a road safety picture competition for children in the local community. Thank you to everyone in the community that has helped us support such an amazing cause once again this year, even in the most difficult of circumstances.
