Our specialist motorbike solicitors are committed to improving road safety amongst motorcyclists and we are pleased to announce that we are supporting Biker Down UK’s campaign to help distribute 5,000 Medical Data Carriers.
These potentially lifesaving medical data pouches will be made freely available to UK bikers through the Biker Down network. In support of Biker Down, Thorneycroft Solicitors have supplied these free of charge.
Jim Sanderson, Founder Biker Down UK said: “We’d like to thank Thorneycroft Solicitors for this support and contribution towards biker safety in the UK.”
Steve Reed, President of Medical Data Carrier is also delighted with the support they have received.
He said: “We are so pleased that one of the UK’s top solicitors for motorcycle riders, Thorneycroft Solicitors, has continued to raise the bar on motorcycle safety and emergency preparedness by providing custom branded Medical Data Carriers (MDC) to be distributed to UK riders through the famous Biker Down training program.”
“Affixed to the exterior of the helmet, the no-tech no-fail MDC provides crucial emergency contact and medical information to first responders when a powersports accident has occurred. Studies have shown that the first on scene at a motorcycle accident is usually a fellow rider or a good Samaritan. The MDC can be utilized immediately by those first on the scene to identify and begin to treat the rider while relaying vital information to 999 operators and inbound EMS.”
A medical data carrier (MDC) is a piece of equipment which has been approved by EMS, Fire Rescue and the Police.
An MDC is a simple and effective means of providing emergency services with crucial medical information, including blood type, allergies, whether an individual is an organ donor, or if they have any surgical or medical history that needs to be considered at the scene of an accident. Details of a designated emergency contact are also included.
We look forward to supporting Biker Down UK as they distribute the Medical Data Carriers to motorcyclists across the country as well as working closely with them in the near future on further motorcycle safety initiatives.
