Four-figure pay-out following substandard care at Welsh hospital

THE family of a Newport grandmother have received a four-figure pay-out after the Health Board accepted its care was negligent in the last weeks of her life. The lady died at the Royal Gwent Hospital 2010 from symptoms unrelated to her complaint.

Her family were left angry at the poor standard of care the grandmother received at the hospital and pursued a medical negligence compensation claim.

Widow wins damages following husband’s death in asbestos compensation claim

A Somerset widow has been awarded compensation after her husband died due to exposure to asbestos whilst at work almost 50 years ago.

The deceased, from Shepton Mallet, worked for a Bristol engineering company that was sent to work at various projects in the Southwest building hospitals.

Compensation claim likely following serious accident at work

10th February 2013

A man who fell from a height of 3 metres whilst at work has suffered a serious back injury, including 2 fractured vertebrae. The accident happened while the victim was installing a mezzanine floor when he fell over an unprotected edge.

In addition to the broken vertebrae the man also suffered a badly bruised shoulder and cuts to the head. The serious nature of the fall has meant the man has been unable to return to work.

A Carlisle man who was left with a serious brain injury following a motorcycle accident has launched a motorcycle accident compensation claim which is being taken to the High Court.

A road traffic accident that left a man with permanent brain damage has resulted in a claim for personal injury compensation being taken to the High Court.

Sacked sales rep receives unfair dismissal compensation

A sales rep who was sacked for gross misconduct after falsifying a sick note from his GP has been awarded compensation for unfair dismissal.

The employee lied about the reason for his absence, stating he had had a heart attack when in fact he was suffering from a form of mental illness.
