Couple Seriously Injured by Motorbike in Accident

A couple who were visiting Finton in Essex were seriously injured when a powerful motorbike struck them on a pavement. 

The accident happened in Cliff Way at around 8:30pm on Saturday. 

The couple, who were visiting relatives in the seaside town when they were struck from behind by the motorbike as they walked along the pavement.

Firm Fined after Worker Involved in Fall Accident

A Lincoln based beef supplier has been fined after one of their workers fractured his spine and heel bone when he fell during dangerous work in an abattoir.

The maintenance engineer, who would not like to be named, has been told by doctors that he may never fully recover form the accident which happened last year. 

The worker was replacing light fittings in a large chiller using a stepladder set on top of a wooden board spanning metal rafters.

Couple Seek Compensation after Brain Injury Accident

A couple are fighting for compensation after a wardrobe panel fell and caused a brain injury. 

The 33-year-old woman and her partner are now in contact with the Emirates Palace Hotel, seeking compensation for the life-changing accident which the husband said started, “four years of hell”.

The woman was unpacking and putting her shoes in the bottom of a wardrobe in the hotel when the wooden panel fell down and hit her on the head.

Bolton Pensioner Lucky to Walk From Car Accident Uninjured

A pensioner from Bolton has had a lucky escape after his car was wedged between a wall and a lamppost this week. 

Local firefighters from Farnsworth were called out to the car accident at 2.20pm to help free the man from the car. 

Police believe that the driver, who is aged in his 70s lost control of his car and drove on to the pavement when he was approaching a set of traffic lights at a junction on Halliwell Road.

Brits Warned to Avoid Accidents While Making the Most of the Sun

Citizens of the United Kingdom have been warned to take more care after a spate of accidents during a recent heatwave. 

Thousands flocked to rivers and lakes to make the most of the hot weather, however a spate of water related accidents have forced authorities to issue warnings. 

“We understand the temptation to want to go swimming in rivers, quarries and lakes, especially during the recent hot weather,” said a spokesperson from RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents).

Olympic Torch Delayed by Motorbike Accident

The progress of the Olympic torch was delayed this week after a motorbike accident put a halt to proceedings. 

The torch was due to pass on to celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver but was delayed when two motorbikes traveling in the opposite direction collided near Chelmsford.

A cyclist has been killed in a collision with a car near Croydon in South London. 

The air ambulance was called to the scene, but the 30-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
